Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is a American professional player who plays for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She was a college basketball player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, before being drafted by the Wings with the fifth overall selection in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Her brothers are Mario (26 and 26 years young) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Since she was the smallest of her siblings, she was the most spoilt from her family. Gregory's father was part of the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale has a thriving family background. She has a mother Yolanda and her brother Dare both played softball while attending DePaul. Her aunt was a volleyball player at UAPB and the cousin Endia Oliver too plays Volleyball on the field at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale has been on the school honour roll for three consecutive years. When she was at school, she played three seasons of varsity soccer. Her skills helped her win some stunning victories at her school. She compiled her high school record by registering 73 career games and lists her career's totals as 1 477 and 739 rebound. Ogunbowale won gold at the 2013 World U16 Championships of FIBA Americas as well as 2014 World Championships of FIBA U17. She was named to the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team on the 7th of July 2014. Ogunbowale, who is playing her first season at a collegiate level, was named her ACC All-Freshman Team. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for her big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Even though she is still just a rookie she has earned herself the status of an outstanding basketball player, and she is bound to keep her track.
